Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated August 18, 2026
This is a demonstration website for a fictional company. This Privacy Policy is sample legal copy illustrating the structure and content a real logistics provider's privacy policy would contain — it does not govern any real data collection.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, company details and shipment information when you request a quote, book a shipment, create a business account, or contact our support or sales teams. We also collect operational data generated while providing service, such as shipment tracking events, delivery confirmations and proof-of-delivery records.
Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical information when you browse our site, including IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, typically through cookies and similar technologies described in our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use your information
We use collected information to provide and manage shipping, tracking, invoicing and customer support services; to communicate with you about bookings, quotes and account activity; to improve our website and operations; and to comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations applicable to freight and customs documentation.
3. How we share information
We share information with parties directly involved in fulfilling your shipment — such as delivery drivers, customs authorities, and, where applicable, subcontracted carriers on a specific lane. We do not sell personal information to third parties. We may share information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of Northstar Logistics, our customers, or the public.
4. Data retention
We retain shipment and account records for as long as needed to provide services, meet contractual obligations, and satisfy applicable tax, customs and regulatory record-keeping requirements, after which records are archived or deleted in accordance with our internal retention schedule.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Requests can be made through the Contact page, specifying the department as General Enquiries.
6. Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No system is completely secure, and we encourage customers to use strong, unique credentials for any portal account.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated revision date on this page.
